dress, shoes and belt: thrifted
dress and shoes: do i need to say it anymore...thrifted
Today was primary day in California. I am always so excited to vote. A democratic voting system only works if the majority of the population vote and at least in my country, we are often way below the mark. Local elections are extremely important as they affect your city directly. That being said, when I was younger I didn't vote but I feel it is so important for young people to vote. But do your research. Voting is a way to change history which is very exciting to me. I'm giving this pep talk to myself as much as my readers because, truth be told, I almost forgot to vote today. I was meaning to from the get-go but this month has being going by at lightning speed. Later I slipped into my comfy black dress but accessorized to for a trip to the store to get some pbr to celebrate my husband being done with his classes tonight. A 12-pack of pbr is a very good investment as they are union made (I always feel better when I know people are getting paid a decent wage- It makes me very happy). What this means that he no longer has 4 hours of homework every night and we can have even more fun, which is an extremely good thing always.
I love the bone colored flats! They look great with the Khaki dress. And I also have a weakness for PBR.

I love that safari dress on you. With your cut and how you styled it, it ends up looking French instead of boxy and military.
ReplyDeleteIt goes without saying that your outfit Rocks. However I think it's Awesome that you are encouraging the population to VOTE!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is adorable ! :D
ReplyDeleteshe's so cute!
and gingham dresses are just amazing, I wish I had more of them :(
Love, Siel
SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER! I like the pic of Beax carrying a purse, very Sophia Petrillo :)
ReplyDeleteyou always look so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteAs pitiful as this sounds, I currently work in politics and it has made me NOT want to vote. Our local government is a very sad thing revolving around money more than democracy. Its sort of like a catch-22!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your hubs for finishing classes! And yum I think you've inspired me to stop off for a 12 pack of pbr on the way home now :)
I know what you mean about voting. Sadly very few of my friends vote, and even sometimes I feel unmotivated to vote. Usually at the last minute I kick myself in the butt and read all the pamphlets and issues because I keep telling myself how important it is to vote. Unfortunately in my city only 23% of the population turned out to vote. Kind of depressing.
ReplyDeleteWhoops forgot to say how much I love both of your outfits, especially the safari dress and the green scarf!
ReplyDeleteI turned 18 last October but I haven't had a chance to vote yet. I'm so excited though because this year I get to vote during out city's mayor elections.
ReplyDeleteYou look incredibly chic. Your first outfit reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.
You can never go wrong with a shirt dress.
ReplyDeleteAdorable shirt dress! Such a chic casual look!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing! I've always had a thing for khaki safari dresses (probably because I was obsessed with the crocodile hunter when I was little)
ReplyDeleteGood for you for getting out and voting and setting an amazing example for your daughter!
ReplyDeleteLovely look!!
Award Night, you and Bea deserve a little recognition! Come on over and claim it! :)
ReplyDeleteWow the first outfit it perfect if you want to go overseas! :D
ReplyDeleteAmazing sense of style, i like it!!!

You both look so adorable in your voting outfits. We took Clover down to the polls with us and she was very excited about the "I voted" sticker she got when we were done and asked: "Momma, when I grow up can I vote?"... awww.
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely in both outfits, though I have a special fondness for your scarf in the second. Thanks for voting!
ReplyDeleteI love your khaki look and it's so cute when you and Bea match! Canada's last federal election had a 5% voter turnout. Which is... embarrassing? Depressing? Makes me despondent about our already corrupt political system?
ReplyDeleteI vote for fun!
ReplyDelete(and since 1986, I've been a permanent absentee voter, so that I can always vote, and I do.)
