Every Day is Dress Up Day

shorts and brogues: crimson & clover vintage, blouse: thrifted
shirt: thrifted, shorts: american apparel
 dress and shoes: thrift town
The first photo is what I wore yesterday and the red dress I wore earlier this week.  Bea is rocking her new thrifted shades hardcore. This month may not have many regular features as traveling and prepping for school has left me little time for creating inovative blog posts. Finally rocked my gorgeous brogues this summer. The weather has been relatively pleasant surprisingly enough. I've been accruing quite a collection of board games for our game night tonight from recent thrifting excursions: balderdash, outburst, scattergories, and trivial pursuit. Haven't been finding much summer attire lately. It is not that I don't have enough clothes for NY I just wanted a beautiful summer dress, maybe I will find it there, which would be even better. I'm so addicted to pretty dresses.

Animal Sanctuary

We went to the  Farm Sanctuary  in Orland last weekend and spent a beautiful day there. It was so serene. All the animals had been rescued from abusive owners or the slaughterhouse. This is where the happy cows really live in California.

I'd never seen a turkey this magnificent before.

Beatrix and her cousins had so much fun. Her outfit was comprised of various gifts so I'm not sure of their sources.

The sheep were not as friendly as the goats. I spent quite a bit of time feeding the goats grass. They were incredibly sweet and welcoming. My outfit is a  dress that I found while on vacation in Mendocino. I have amazing memories of wearing it on our recent trip. We watched the sunrise which is was rare and incredible experience for me. The leggings are American Apparel.

Lucas the pig was huge and also very friendly. He, like many of the animals had barely escaped being someone's dinner.

Day of Play

The weather has been amazing lately so I didn't even check before I put on this sundress. It was a bit too big so I tied the back. When I went outside the weather was cloudy but luckily when we got to the park the sun came out.

I match the playground and am wearing a thrifted dress.
We found a ton of awesome old books while on vacation. Alaric is pictured reading Giles Goat-boy by John Barth.

tee and vintage jacket: thrifted
sandals and shirt: Once Upon a Child Secondhand
shorts: secondhand

It's too big and I've got mud on my boots

I wanted to add the disclaimer after all the hype first but it is a  reversible jacket. It is oversized so I have to wear it with skinny jeans. I really need a new pair of skinny jeans as I favor a dark wash and all the knees on mine are faded. I wish I thought that looked good. Today I was just lounging around the house so I tried pairing it with leggings.  So here it is. There is no label and I'm not really sure the year but I really love wearing it. It is so soft and the colors make me feel happy.

Alaric's amazing new shoes

Ok my shoes are pretty rad but Alaric finally got his custom made animal collective cover keds and they look amazing. Both of us are sick today I just hope Bea doesn't catch it. Hopefully my outfit is ok as I'm pretty delirious. We had so much fun watching figure skating last night.

As real as rainbows

I  found this awesome poncho today whilst thrifting today. The cords are from Am Appy and so comfy. The boots were found thrifting awhile back for $1. I feel very relaxed today. I'm really taken with the new Charlotte Gainsbourg album. She is amazing. Alaric said Beatrix has been enjoying her road trip. The scenery in Idaho is very beautiful. Bea's name does mean traveler so I'm not really surprised.

So many pics from yesterday and today! Love the weekend when the weather is this amazing. My first outfit features a dress from American Apparel and thrifted accessories.   Alaric's first shirt is from American Rag Vintage store in SF. Beatrix's adorable dress we found yesterday at my fave vintage shop in Sacramento, Crimson & Clover. I  also got my red dress there. Alaric found his at Bows & Arrows (although the pants are from C&C.)

Cute Alert

Follow my blog with bloglovin

Apparently these leggings are controversial on other blogs only because the are made by American Apparel. I'm bummed they aren't selling them anymore as they are adorable. Cute and made by people who get paid decent wages. I'm in.
