Awkward photo Day

Today I thought would post the awkward pictures as most of them turned out that way. Taking the pictures is my least favorite part of blogging but I love having an outfit record that I could refer to in a pinch. I've had this thrifted blouse for awhile and love the effect it has over my gold corset. I got some shoe polish today and some shoe glue and am planning on doing a bit of repairing and alterations on my clothes and shoes this weekend. I must confess when I was younger  I used to just get rid of stuff because I was too lazy to get a thread and needle out.

Painter in your Pocket

I should go out dancing every night because I never feel the need to put make-up on the day after. Last night I had a fun girl dance excursion! I'm talking to my husband in the pics. It turns out they are both having a great time. Bea is playing with her cousins and Alaric is catching up with friends and family. So today I posted those shoes I  just thrifted. They aren't quite ready for a close-up because I didn't have the time or desire to polish them today. The socks are from Target and the shirt is too but were bought awhile ago. Alaric made the logo, destroyer, which is a band that does not sound anything like the name would imply. The socks were bought before I found sock dreams, who makes many wonderful eco-friendly socks.I made the shorts from old jeans and the jacket was found while thrifting. I have a busy day today sort of: I'm doing my mom's hair and studying for my first exam.

Lines and more lines

I picked up this awesome purple skirt at Bows & Arrows Vintage. The shirt is from my recent thrifting expedition last weekend. Of course I had to pair all the lines in my shirt with my tights from Sock Dreams. It rained this morning so I had some trouble getting the pics and my shoes got muddy. Oh well. I say oh well so much because Bea says it now and it is pretty cute to hear a toddler say. Today was a school day so I had to get up super early. I dropped by after class to see if a skirt that I forgot to get at the thrift shop was still there and it was. I also found some adorable black oxfords for $3 that I can't wait to post!!  I have been doing so many outfit posts lately with all this free time. Hope you all are having a wonderful Monday.

Another World

I picked up this lovely ruffled blouse while thrifting yesterday and I'm quite taken with it. The shorts are from Crimson & Clover Vintage and the socks are from Sock Dreams. Day three of solitude (not exactly as I still have a dog and housemate): I haven't been on my own like this since the day I met Alaric almost 4 years ago. I've been sustaining myself on lots of hummus and coconut ice cream. I'm having a lovely time although I miss them too.  So I have procrastinated enough and must do my Phaedo homework for class tomorrow! Thank you so much for those of you who have been leaving comments. I've been having such fun checking out your blogs!

As real as rainbows

I  found this awesome poncho today whilst thrifting today. The cords are from Am Appy and so comfy. The boots were found thrifting awhile back for $1. I feel very relaxed today. I'm really taken with the new Charlotte Gainsbourg album. She is amazing. Alaric said Beatrix has been enjoying her road trip. The scenery in Idaho is very beautiful. Bea's name does mean traveler so I'm not really surprised.
