Prosecutors Will Be Violated
Dirt Cheap 100 % Thrifted Outfit For $5
Today my family and I spent a lovely day meandering around the Delta. We found lots of lovely photo spots along the way.
Both Bea's Outfits 100% thrifted
We took some photos for the store including a Gunne Sax and a 1940s dress in the lovely little ghost town of Locke. They even had a lovely little vintage shop there and I tried on this absolutely amazing 1940s swimsuit as well as a breathtaking lavender dress, both out of my price range at the moment unfortunately. I'm so glad I started the store as it is impetus to wake up early and go to Estate Sales, something I would probably otherwise not do.
shorts and top:bows and arrows, shoes thrifted
The above photos were taken last weekend and for some reason I didn't feel they merited their own post. I really like them though but the lighting leaves something to be desired. I haven't completely abandoned regular features but for now am focusing on the Sacramento Stylista feature. I just did a photoshoot for the lovely Brie and her interview will be posted soon. I haven't wanted to spend too much time online as the Etsy store requires quite a bit of time online already and that is why I am perhaps postponing some of the other features 'til i get the hang of it. This Saturday we are again going to visit the MOMA in San Francisco. I can't wait!

I totally thought most of these photos were rubbish but I was pleasantly surprised with how quite a few of the them turned out. Goes to show you never can tell- at least from that tiny screen.

River Party
Today we had silver dollar pancakes...
Went to the river to play...
Made a sandcastle...
And some delicious "cake"...
Beatrix wore her vintage suit and I my hat as a bonnet and a vintage gingham 80's bikini...
After our barbecue tempeh pitas we had a coconut chocolate mint chip party*...
Bea wants to have an "ice cream" and river party again soon.
How was your Sunday?

*This stuff is soo good and far healthier than actual ice cream

Interplanetary
This weekend was phenomenal despite the fact that I was in rather excruciating pain, at least on Monday. I had a pain in the neck and even 800 mg ibuprofen wasn't cutting it. There was a huge sale at thrift town on Sunday and we were extremely successful. There is one particular orange vintage dress I am rather excited about. Last night I drank a bit of Finlaggan to dull the pain and sure enough today the pain is a bit more tolerable. I would recommend it if you are a snobby Scotch drinker on a budget. They actually get their whiskey from the excess production of two of Islay's best distilleries (Lagavulin and Caol Ila).
shorts: old urban outfitters, shoes: crimson and clover, shirt: vintage
I am finally posting one of my recent acquisitions, this lovely purple butterfly blouse. I got this, among other amazingness, Saturday night when I got a huge free bag of clothes from someone whose rejects were actually better than some of the stuff in my closet. I ended up changing the shorts later as they are so annoyingly bunchy.
I took Bea to our favorite park today and we had such a great time. Much of the time we were just blowing bubbles although we did make a sand castle which she took much delight in destroying. I just love watching her play. She is such a daredevil but also cautious, thank goodness.
This photo is from our daily walk. I got this adorable gingham shirt with daisies at the thrift town sale last weekend. "5, 6, pick up sticks!"shorts: crimson and clover

Peaches and Cream
I recently acquired my first two peach colored items of clothing and wondered why it took me so long. The color is perfect for warmer weather and very flattering to my skin tone. Unfortunately my life is not full of events that require much dressing up because I have quite a collection of formal attire. These impractical dresses are too pretty to pass up. I think I'm just going to dress up more often. Life is too short not to. Here's to dressing up more and the lovely color peach. There are quite a few ways to wear this wonderful 1960s dress. I got it last week at Crimson & Clover Vintage of course.
Alaric found this amazing 1980s shirt at Crimson and Clover.
This afternoon was spent lounging at the river and watching Bea and her cousin play. The weather was absolutely perfect and it was good to spend some time outside before it rains tomorrow. We spent some time discussing how enormous the oil spill in the Gulf is. It is something that has been on my mind lately. the environmental impact is going to be huge and since nothing like this has ever ever happened all the results are difficult to project. I am wearing the sweater I won from Rare Treasure Vintage.
