Jessica Who?

Dress is All That Jazz and probably going into the etsy shop. I have so much to add. It's ridiculous. Etsy.com/shop/jupiterapparel

Down by the Delta

I love the intricate  abstract colorful pattern of this thrifted guess dress. The length is soo long and it is so comfortable to wear.
words of wisdom today are from Bob Dylan. I don't want to compete with you. beat or cheat  or mistreat you. Simplify you, classify you. Deny, defy or crucify you. All I really want to do. Is, baby be friends with you.
No, I ain't lookin' to fight with you, Frighten you or uptighten you. Drag you down or drain you down, Chain you down or bring you down. All I really want to do. Is baby, be friends with you.

If it's wrong then why does it feel so right

So I have this tie dye crop top that I'm obsessed with and recently I found this tie dye dress and I love the way it looks. It's how I like my art, controlled chaos. I definitely didn't wear this all day. Currently wearing a burgundy v neck suit and shorts straight up lounging.

My etsy store, Jupiter Apparel is finally open!  I want to perfect it but it is exciting and each piece is special to me. I think one of my favorite pieces in the shop right now is the anchor navy sailor suit.

Silky Jumpy Shorty

This is what I wore today. Everything thrifted down to my Naturizer toes. Top is all silk, one of my favorite materials. and shorts are BDG originally.

104 degrees

Apparently I still get a good readership to this blog because I got 104 page views yesterday which just boggles my mind. Now that I got my degree and starting an Etsy store I'm planning on blogging more, with more content. I'm also working at thrift store because I'm sort of fanatical about secondhand clothes, good for the environment, good for the pocketbook, good for being original, and wearing a dream. I was reading some Andy Warhol books at my good friends house last weekend and saw his exhibit at the Crocker a week ago. What really impressed me was a quote up on the wall. I forget the exact wording but it was about how the factory was a place people could be themselves scars and all. I've yet to find a place like that within the sugar coated walls of our current civilization but it's a compelling idea. I think it's important to have a bit of sour with the sweet. The weather has been hot, real hot but I don't really mind. Playsuits and cutoffs rule my world.
chiffon and daisy shirt thrifted. cut these jeans also thrifted. need a couple washings for delightfully ragged status
Have had this thrifted silence and noise playsuit for quite some time. Purple love.

It Just Takes Time

I decided to blog this outfit because it is so damn cute.  Everything is secondhand, thrifted or gifted for mine. It has been a pretty chill summer.

I've been reading profusely and teaching myself Spanish. Currently reading a fascinating biography about the dancer Isadora Duncan during her time founding a children's school in Russia.
I want to write more on topics of interest besides just outfits. I remember I used to have an obsessions du jour post. I want to combine elements of my dancing and photography into creative presentations.I have grown so much in the past years and my appreciation for life has quadrupled.
Next time I will write more about my thoughts and ideas.  I have so many  ideas for various projects and would like to include some tutorials as well. I've been making some lovely stars and exploring the wonderful world of film photography. I broke my leg  and it is finally healing and I can dance again! I even got to perform a short solo this summer at the Crocker.  I will be graduating in December with my dance degree and am excited to enjoy the end of this period in my life.

Beatrix is in third grade and we have been having a lot of fun with her hairstyles. She is obsessed with this website called cute girls hairstyles and is learning Spanish and cursive.
Bea's baby animal leggings are from H & M and her shirt is American Girl.
She is reading and swimming up a storm just like I did when I was a little girl.
Until next time much love to you all.

Under a Redwood Sky

 Dress and Shoes:Gifted and Thrifted

This was a funner shoot in some ways because I had my man shoot me. Went to Davis Arboretum last weekend and found some gorgeous reflective light under the shade of a redwood. This dress is pretty old making it super comfy and stretched out and the pattern and colors are distinctive. In other news just got a little pinhole camera and am excited to experiment. I am deciding to work more on photography again. Also modeling a bit more. School is keeping me pretty busy. Almost showtime for a piece I am choreographing, Dreamland,  which has been all kinds of incredible.

Shredded Tapestry

cut-offs:thrifted and self made. shirt:thrifted and gifted. blazer:vintage

A recommencement of the blog has been a project I have been meaning to embark upon. A two year hiatus has renewed my focus on my love of quirky, cheap, frayed, fun fashion, (and a broken leg but that is another story.) These shorts are still kinda my favorite even though they are practically falling apart. It gives them a frayed edge. I wore this outfit two nights ago to see the band Eternal Tapestry.

I complement various prints from being too busy by keeping the colors consistent and the loose jacket pairs down the fitted ensemble.
The shoes are very comfortable which is another very important factor when considering fashion. The tights allowed me to wear these past their prime cutoffs into the new season,
Making your own cut offs is a great way to revitalize a pair of jean whose cut is to frumpy or dated. The trick is to cut them at the right length for your figure. I prefer cutting them longer in the back and shorter in the front. This creates an appealing short look in the front while covering you assets properly in the back.
Anyhow Happy Spring! Allergy season is in full effect for those affected. Achoo!
Happy thrifting until next time.
